About Winterspring Sanctuary

Winterspring Sanctuary is a non-profit organization founded in 2024 by a group of horse-first equestrians from various professional backgrounds who believe wholly in the healing power of working with horses. Alongside Equine Assisted Learning (EAL), Winterspring practices certified Eagala (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning)  therapy sessions where a licensed professional counselor and an equine specialist lead sessions together with horses. Ground-based and solution-oriented makes this model accessible to a variety of individuals. Eagala certification requires practitioners to adhere to a code of ethics, regarding clients and horses.

Winterspring emerged in response to the growing need for trauma-informed, experiential therapy in rural Pennsylvania. The team at Winterspring creates a space where clients feel empowered to explore and heal through guided experiences that engage both body and mind.

We are proud to be one of the few programs in the region certified in the Eagala Model, which is globally recognized and practiced in over 40 countries.
